Impressions carries an extensive range of artist supplies and offers a comprehensive picture framing service to the artists of the Nelson region.
Impressions is owned and operated by Lewis and Glenys Della Bosca, who started the business in 1983. The business has evolved over the years from its inception as a print gallery to what it is today, retailing custom picture framing and fine art supplies.
The business has developed to become an integral part of the local art community - as well as providing their framing service and selling artist supplies, Impressions provides sponsorships, presents workshops, artist and product demonstrations and supplies information sheets.

Our normal trading hours are: -
- 9am - 5.30pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
- 9am - 7pm Thursday
- 9am - 1pm Saturday
- Closed Sunday and Public Holidays
NB. From 20th - 31st July, the shop will close at 5pm Monday - Friday and at 1pm on Saturdays while holidays are being taken. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Arts Council Nelson Impressions Art Awards 2010
Impressions are proud to sponsor the annual Arts Council Nelson Impressions Art Awards.
The 2010 Art Awards are open to all artists in the Top of the South i.e.who reside in the Nelson, Tasman or Marlborough Regions.
Entry forms and Conditions of Entry can be downloaded from this website (select Art Awards in the menu).
This year the Awards are open to all visual artists using painting, drawing and mixed media. There will be no photographic section this year. Impressions is pleased to welcome WildTomato as a support Sponsor.

New Paint Range
We are pleased to announce that Old Holland Classic Oil Colours are now available at Impressions. This paint of the old masters is still manufactured according to 16th century methods and under the supervision of artists. As an introductory offer, while stocks last, a free 40ml tube of Titanium White is available when you purchase any three 40ml tubes .
Picture Framing
Impressions is proud to offer a comprehensive picture framing service. Customers regularly say they choose us because we do the best job.
Owner/manager Lewis Della Bosca GCF and staff picture framer La Verne Clark GCF adhere to the rigid picture framing standards set by the Fine Art Trade Guild (UK) of which Impressions is a member. Both have earned their Guild Commended Framer qualifications after extensive picture framing experience and passing the examination administered by the Fine Art Trade Guild in London.
Impressions' staff appreciate how important it is to get the job done right for the individual customer's tastes, while offering technical advice on products, perspective and colour harmony.
