Impressions National Art Awards 2018
The judging was completed on Saturday 29th September and the results were announced at the opening of the exhibition in the afternoon.
The exhibition was held at the Mapua Community Hall from 30th September to 13 October. until Saturday 13 October.
Impressions Supreme Award: Nour Hassan, Auckland, "Untitled" ($2000 cash, $500 Impressions Framing art supplies/framing voucher, a year’s subscription to the NZ Artist Magazine and a two-page feature article.)
Winsor & Newton Merit Award: Caroline Bellamy, Nelson, "Valley Beyond, Fiordland, NZ" ($750 retail voucher for Winsor & Newton Art Materials, $150 wholesale value Larson Juhl Picture Framing and a year’s subscription to the New Zealand Artist Magazine.)
Golden Artist Colour Merit Award: Hannah Starnes, Nelson, "Release", ($750 retail voucher for Golden Art Supplies, $150 wholesale voucher for Larson Juhl Picture Framing and a year’s subscription to the New Zealand Artist Magazine.)
Daler Rowney Merit Award: Wendy Lineham, Nelson, "God Sees II", ($750 retail voucher for Daler Rowney Art Supplies, $200 wholesale voucher for Avon Picture Framing, and a year’s subscription to the New Zealand Artist Magazine.)
NBS Peoples Choice Award: Michelle Bellamy, “Mid Morning Mai Mai” ($500 from NBS and a year’s subscription to the New Zealand Artist Magazine.)

The 2018 Awards were organised and managed by the Tasman Art Focus Group. This year’s organising panel was led by nationally recognised Ruby Coast artist printmaker, Graeme Stradling and supported by fellow artist Glenys Forbes. Lewis Della Bosca of Impressions also provided input into the group.
