Impressions Art Club Evening: 5.30pm - 7.00pm, Tuesday 13 July

"Framed for Good" presented by Lewis Della Bosca GCF

This evening was attended by a hardy bunch of keen artists who braved the coldest day of winter so far! However, a warm room and a hot cuppa set the scene for Lewis' presentation. Audience members learned about what causes artwork to degrade, materials and framing processes that can dramatically slow the deterioration.

Lewis explains the properties of different backing boards

Audience members were shown actual works by Picasso and Henri Matisse framed at Impressions, which originally were attributed no value - illustrating that other people will often value your work, when you don't. Audience members did not know in advance that they were going to be treated to viewing actual works of two of the Masters!

The next Art Club Members' Evening is planned for October.
