Our featured artist this evening will be: -

Lloyd Harwood BA (Hons) UK, Dip.Art & Design UK

 

.“The Mummers”

Lloyd is a prominent figure in the local arts scene. As the person at the helm of Arts Council Nelson, we see him regularly promoting the arts activities of individuals and groups in the region.

 A noted artist in his own right, he has developed a following for his work in oil sticks. His works are recognisable for their simplicity of form and strength of colour contrasts. 

 “He is inspired by the dualities he sees in everyday life, in particular, the constant wonder and folly of being human.”Lloyd has consented to demonstrate his approach to painting in this medium for us this evening.

“The Gifted” 

At the conclusion of his presentation, there will be a lucky draw for members present, for a set of Markal Student Grade Oil Sticks valued at $69.95 – which I’m sure you’ll be inspired to try following Lloyd’s presentation.
